Giant Children's Day Carp

To follow up last week’s Children’s Day celebration, the kids colored in their own fish scales and created a large carp fish. The children worked really well together to create the fish!

Children’s Day Flags


This Monday, the children created personal carp flags in honor of Children’s Day. In Japan, Children’s Day is celebrated in honor of children’s happiness and strength. The children made carp as they represent strength because of a Chinese legend where a carp swam up stream to become a dragon.

Dream Center Drawings

In preparation for the summer program, the first exercise we did was ‘Dream Center Drawings’. Based off of a blank template of the Boys & Girls Club, the children were asked to draw what they wanted to see added or changed to their building.
