We began Tuesday’s class with the 10 to 12 year old boys going over basic
geometric shapes taking the triangle and duplicating it to create a rhombus,
trapezoid and then hexagon.
From these drawings, the boys chose a
platonic shape to build. They created their own templates and made cubes, tetrahedrons,
dodecahedrons and even a 20 sided icosahedron!
The boys were incredibly patient working
to build complex shapes and even incorporated their own interests by decorating
their shapes about sports! This summer has been a blast so far and our last two
classes are already coming up, but until then, see you on Friday!
